The Greedy Boy’s Race for Father's Wealth Story

The Greedy Boy’s Race for Father’s Wealth

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Sam and Tom, two identical twins, used to reside in a peaceful little town. Initially, they were difficult to distinguish. The identification of who was sometimes difficult for their mother. Despite sharing the same physical attributes, the two boys were like night and day in every possible way.

Tom’s demeanor was characterized by kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity. The idea of helping others and sharing was his belief. Therefore, he gained significant social connections and became popular in the community. However, Sam was also greedy and self-centered.

He consistently prioritized his own needs and always sought to gain more. He had no real friends and Sam was often left out because of his selfishness. Why did they leave him alone?

The difference wasn’t just in their personality. They had the opposite taste as far as their food.

Sweet: Tom loved chocolates and desserts, and Sam particularly enjoyed spicy and hot food.

As the twins aged, their father began to consider ways of dividing his riches among them. He was a fair-minded individual who wanted to distribute his wealth equally.  But Sam disagreed.

According to Sam, the person who is more physically strong and intelligent should receive a greater share.

That’s only fair.

Tom was hesitant to argue and confidently agreed, “If you’re willing to do it, let us decide.”

The dad briefly contemplated the idea and proposed an idea. “Alright,” he stated. “I’ll hold another competition tomorrow.”

Neither of you can walk from the moment of sunrise until just before the break. It is mandatory to leave before the sun sets, as per the rule.

A greater portion of my wealth will be received by those who complete the longest journey and return home.

As the sun grew brighter, both brothers began their journey the next day. The absence of watches and timekeeping equipment meant that they relied on the sun’s position to keep track of time.

Walking was a gradual process as Tom kept his pace. He took pleasure in the scenery, heard the sounds of nature, and kept a watchful eye on the sun. He observed that the sun had started to fade at midday.

He contemplated carefully, hoping to return home before dusk.

Nevertheless, Sam’s motivation was to attain riches. He sprinted ahead, determined to cover as much ground as possible.

Despite the sun’s most intense setting, Sam continued to move forward. “Just a little further,” he confessed. “It’ll get more and more covered as I travel.” This was Sam.

After some reflection, he turned back. But it was too late. He was unable to make the trip home in time. His legs became drained as he tried to run, and the sun disappeared from the sky. The moon rose before he could even cover half of the return journey.

It wasn’t just a slow and weak Sam, but he also lost the challenge due to his greedy nature.

If you’re not careful, everything will be lost due to unhygienic behavior.

Moral of The Greedy Boy’s Race for Father’s Wealth Story

Greediness will make you lose everything. Greed often makes us want more than we truly need. But when we chase too much without thinking, we may lose the very opportunities and happiness already within our reach.
