In India, There are many sayings that influence one’s life in many situations. Since the time of our ancestors, we used to believe in those words and they are known as Proverbs. People use proverbs to connect with other people and the wisdom of the historical days.

Importance of Proverbs

The wise sayings by wise people are known as proverbs and give advice for our lives. These are considered universal sayings. Everyone can relate to these in some way at some level. Proverbs can prove the real facts of life. These proverbs have evolved in different aspects related to living such as hygiene, health, discipline, ethics, education, honesty, diseases, etc.

You will find the various proverbs below that you can relate to your life and that can inspire you. It may help you in dealing positively with certain circumstances. Kids can learn from these illustrations of the proverbs I have given. Let’s share our opinions and make a better world for the future.

Proverbs with Illustrations

There are a few simple proverbs in English that can be understood easily. The popular English proverbs with meanings and explanations or illustrations to be known and taught for your kids are:

“Actions Speak louder than Words”

Meaning: To tell in a simple way, the above proverb gives the following advice. Always try implementing the words you say or promise to do. Doing things is harder than speaking out. For the world, Saying that you can do something doesn’t mean much, but when you show it through implementation, you shine. 

Moral: Remember to do whatever you promise or you expect to do all the time and shine yourselves

“Better Late than Never”

Meaning: Consider a situation, You have decided to do something but unfortunately you have come across certain circumstances that you cannot complete in the stipulated time. With that, You may think, “Let’s not do it”. Finishing that task a little late will yield more positive results than leaving it completely. 

Moral: Always try finishing the tasks or try achieving your dreams even if it goes late sometimes. Once you achieve, It gives immense pleasure and happiness.

“Hope for the Best, but prepare for the Worst”

Meaning: In Life, There are situations when you will expect certain things to happen but unfortunately you experience negative results and feel disappointed. This may lead to all your worries and affect your future work. So, Expect the best to happen but prepare for the worst.

Moral: Bad things might happen according to the time, but preparing for the worst will not discourage you and your thoughts.

“Aim High”

Meaning: Whenever we need to achieve something, always aim high because the greatest danger comes when we aim too low and achieve it. None knows the power you include yourself. So aim high and try to achieve it.

Moral: Always aim high and win yourself instead of aiming less and losing yourself for just a small amount of happiness.

“Necessity is the mother of  Invention”

Meaning: All over the world, we have developed a lot due to scientific inventions. Our lives became easier due to all modern evolvements. Every invention is from the necessity of a living being. 

Moral: For any situation, unless there is a necessity, no new thought will rise. So, Necessity is considered the mother of invention.
