Sparrow Couple and A Naughty Elephant

On a spring morning, a sparrow couple built a beautiful nest on a tree. The tree was tall and strong. Within a few days, they had eggs. The sparrow couple was expecting their little ones and living happily there.

Every day, the female sparrow waited for the male one to return to the nest with a collection of food. Then, one day, an arrogant naughty elephant suddenly visited the area and found the tall tree standing strong.

On noticing the nest, the elephant started shaking the tree hard, but he failed to catch the net. So he went back and again came the next day. He tried once more but failed.

On the third day, he came determined and shook the tree harder with his trunk, and finally, he managed to destroy the nest and got the eggs. The eggs fell down and got damaged.

The sparrows got angry and saddened by this incident and decided to seek revenge on the elephant. So they went to their woodpecker friend and asked to help them seek revenge.

The woodpecker and his other friends, namely, the frog and the fly, made a plan. First, the frog asked the fly, “Go and buzz near the elephant’s ear.” Then, he said, “When the elephant closes his eyes, don’t miss the chance, my dear friend woodpecker. You go and pierce his eyes.”

Then, the elephant will stand up to find water for help. “In the meantime, I will croak from far away, and the elephant will think there’s water around. He will then try to reach the place. But, before he reaches it, we have to create a pit. As soon as the elephant reaches there, he will fall into it.”

At dawn, the friends and the sparrow couple worked according to the plan, and the elephant fell into the pit and could not survive anymore.

To win through physical strength is not mandatory or permanent, but intelligence and teamwork can achieve a goal perfectly.
