January 10, 2023July 16, 2023 A Small Boy, Fredrick – Story on Determination Fredrick was a kid, and his father was a horse trainer who moved from stable to stable, from ranch to ranch, to train horses. As a result, Frederick’s school studies were constantly interrupted. Fredrick was in class 10 and was finally a senior. One day, the teacher asked him to write about what he wanted to be as a grown-up adult or his aim in life. Astonishingly, he did not hesitate a minute and presented a seven-page write-up about his aim. His aim, which he wrote in the paper, was to own a horse ranch and stable. He wrote in detail and referred to various locations of buildings and stables as per his own plan. Not only did he have a stable, but he also made a detailed house plan. Exactly two days later, he received his paper back with the letter ‘F’ on the front page. After his classes in school, he went to the teacher and asked, “Ma’am, Why did I receive an F which states a Fail?” The teacher replied, “these dreams are unrealistic for a boy like you, who has no money and is poor, and comes from an itinerant family.” She continued, “It is impossible for you to reach your goal someday.” Then the teacher offered Fredrick to rewrite the paper with a more realistic and harsh behavior. The boy went home and shared everything with his father. In the end, he asked his father, “How should I react to this?” The father answered: “This is a very important decision in your life. So you have to make your own mind regarding this.” After a week, the boy brought the same written paper to his teacher, and the teacher found that no changes had been made. So he said to the teacher, “You may keep the ‘F.’ But, meanwhile, I promise I will keep my dream!” After 8 years… Presently, Fredrick owns a 6,000-square-foot house in the middle of a 300-acre horse ranch and stable. However, he still kept that school paper with him, which he now has framed and hung over the fireplace.
