The Ant and The Dove

It was the summer season. One hot day, an ant was in search of some water. She kept walking around and came near the river after some time. She climbed up on a small rock to drink water. While drinking water, the ant slipped and fell down into the river.

A dove which was sitting on a branch of a tree, was observing this. It had plucked a leaf quickly and dropped it into the river near the struggling ant. On seeing the leaf, the ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up onto it. The leaf soon drifted to the dry ground, and the ant jumped out. The ant looked up at the tree and thanked the dove saying, “I will be grateful to you for saving my life”.

After this, on the same day, a nearby bird catcher came towards the tree for hunting. He was about to throw his net over the dove, thinking of trapping it. The ant saw him and guessed what he was thinking of doing.

The dove was sleeping then and had no idea about the bird catcher. The ant quickly bit the bird catcher on foot. He dropped his net, feeling the pain and let out a light scream. The dove observed it and flew away quickly.

Moral of the ant and the dove story

If you do good, good will come to you. One good turn deserves another. Every good thing we do for others will surely come back to us.
