The Pig Has Wings: Tragic Consequences of Blind Ambition

Some time ago, a pig named Henry lived on a ranch. He had a lot of ambition. Flying was one of his greatest goals.

“I must fly! I can’t fly. Why? I should be able to fly in the same way that birds can. Humans are able to fly, but unlike birds, they do not have wings. Therefore, if humans can construct artificial wings, so can I!” Henry thought to himself.

Henry got an idea quickly. Immediately, he began to envision flying like a bird. Therefore, Henry began collecting bird feathers on that day. He quickly amassed enough feathers to collect any feathers dropped by any bird.

“These many feathers ought to suffice! I’ll start the plan’s next step now,” he thought.

Henry secretly removed the glue from the drawer when Mousey, one of his friends, saw him doing something.

Henry told Mousey that he would soon be flying and would be working on a lot of new ideas using these. Mousey attempted to reassure him that this was impossible. On the other hand, Henry insisted that he visit the hill the next morning.

The next day, all the animals gathered to see Henry flying up to the sky.

Suddenly, a voice came, “Henry, Please don’t do this. You will die, you fool! Stop, Henry! I will not let you do this.”

It was Mousey.

“Go away, Mousey! Don’t stop me!” shouted Henry and pushed away Mousey. The poor Mousey fell to the ground.

As soon as Henry began to fly, instead of going up, he was going down. Henry was now scared and understood why Mousey was telling him not to do so. But it was too late now.

At once, he fell with a thud, breathless.

Both Henry and Mousey lost their lives. Henry loses his life because of his foolish wish, while Mousey also loses his life because of his foolish friend.

While having ambition is good, one should also consider the practicality and safety of their aspirations. It is important to listen to the advice of those who care for us, as they may have our best interests at heart. Being too focused on achieving our goals without considering the consequences can lead to disastrous outcomes not only for ourselves but also for those around us.
