The Power of Love: A Story of Wealth, Success, and Happiness

One night, a poor man returned home to find four strangers sitting outside his house.

He said to them respectfully, “please come in and have something to eat. You must be travellers.” “Is your spouse at home?” they inquired.

He responded, “No, she is not at home as she went to the town with my son and daughter.” The strangers responded, “Then we cannot come in until they arrive.”

Despite his confusion, the man nonetheless entered. When his wife and children returned from town in the evening, he informed them of the events. 

“Tell them we’ve arrived and invite them in,” the wife advised. The son invited the four strangers inside after going outside. They responded, “No! Actually, we don’t go to any house together.” “What’s going on?” being inquisitive, the son inquired.

“Because his name is WEALTH,” one of the strangers said, pointing to one of his friends and then the remaining two, “and their names are SUCCESS and HAPPINESS, and myself LOVE.” “Now go back and please decide immediately which one of us you want to be in your home,” he added.

The boy went inside and told his parents. The father replied, “How nice! Let’s invite SUCCESS so he can bring success into our lives.”

“Let’s invite wealth in,” the mother said in opposition. “Why not invite HAPPINESS in?” the daughter asked herself.

The son jumped in with his own suggestion after standing in the middle of the house. Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to invite LOVE?” he spoke slowly.

The father said, “Let us listen to our son and invite LOVE to our home,” He told his son to do the same.

Once more, the son went out and asked, “Which of you is LOVE? Come with me,” he kindly advised.

LOVE got up and started going in the direction of the house, with the other three following closely behind. 

Surprised, the boy inquired, “I thought you said only one of you could enter?” 

“If you had invited WEALTH, SUCCESS, or HAPPINESS, the other three of us would have stayed out,” LOVE replied with a smile. However, as you invited LOVE inside, we all are in. Wealth, success, and happiness can be found where there is love.
