October 6, 2023October 6, 2023 The Singing Hippo A hippopotamus once lived in a river next to a large, isolated tree. At some point, a bird came and settled in the tree. The hippo was so envious of the bird’s songs and flight that he couldn’t think of anything else. He would lament that he had been born a hippo each day. This was despite the fact that the bird repeatedly told the hippo that he was extremely fortunate to be so big and good at swimming. At long last, the hippo made his brain up so that he would emerge from the waterway, climb the tree, go out to roost on a branch, and begin singing. However, it became abundantly clear when he attempted to scale the tree that the hippo could not hop and neither had the wings nor the claws to do so. He yelled and slammed his entire body against the tree, realizing he couldn’t do it, until it fell to the ground. He then triumphantly climbed onto the fallen tree’s leaves and began singing. Tragically, hippos can’t sing by the same token. All that came from his mouth were terrible clamors. When different animals heard this, they generally assembled around to ridicule the hippo remaining on the part of a fallen tree, attempting to sing like a bird. He decided to never regret being a hippo again because he was so embarrassed by this. Additionally, he regretted having felled the tree. He did everything in his power to get the tree back up, plant it, and care for it until it was fully recovered.
