The Tragic Tale of A Deer and The Lion

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A tragic tale of a deer and the lion is here and has a moral to teach us! Let’s read and learn now!

In the vast jungle of the Sundarbans, there was an old lion. He could no longer eat enough to sustain himself and kill his prey because he had become so weak. The lion was afraid that he would starve to death if he didn’t eat.

He was thinking and saw a deer enjoying clean drinking water and lush green grass in the vast jungle. He realized that he would ultimately fail as the lion prepared to attack him. He even lacked the energy to continue walking. As a result, he made the decision to become close to the deer. He could entice him with the pretence of friendship before attacking him.

As a result, he began to advance toward the deer slowly. He was about to run when the deer realized he was there. The lion then said, “Oh, My friend!” in a trembling voice. I’m not here to harm you in any way. Instead, I have injured myself. Could you please assist me with drinking water? I have a lot of thirst.

After a brief pause, the deer turned to look at him. He questioned, “How can a fragile animal like me assist the great jungle king? Why haven’t you murdered me yet?”

The clever lion smiled and replied, “I’m looking for a good, trustworthy friend more than food.” No one can assist me because I’m hurt. I’d gladly return the favour as soon as I’m healthy.

The deer decided to assist him and agreed. The deer brought him to his house at night, where they stood together. He introduced the lion to his family and provided the lion with shelter.

The deer’s wife and young fawn became afraid. They looked at him with a lot of questions in their eyes. After that, the deer persuaded his family and made them realize that the lion was hurt and needed help. Therefore, the gentle deer and his family cared for the lion.

The deer had gone to meet his natives the following day. He was scheduled to return within a few days. The lion thought to himself on that pitch-black night, “Oh god! I can’t stand eating these green grasses anymore. I’m not given any energy by it. I’m starving, and I want flesh.”

Then he made his way slowly to the shelter. He moved toward the bushes with the small fawn around his neck. He came back, ate, and fell asleep. The deer’s wife appeared in the morning, yelling, “My baby is missing! Where has he gone, oh my god?” The lion attacked the wife as soon as she approached the lion to inquire.

The deer saw blood all over his house when he returned in the evening. He asked the lion, “Friend, where is everyone, and what is this blood?”

“You seem to be very worried,” the lion said. I think you should go and see your family right now. The poor deer understood that he had lost his family and life when the lion jumped onto it.

Moral of The Tragic Tale of A Deer and The Lion

We should never blindly trust anyone. Beware of false friends, for they may turn on you when you least expect it.

Trust should be earned and not blindly given, as betrayal can lead to devastating consequences.
