A Tale of Two Classmates

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

There is a small town in Ramgarh City named Ghara and was not very populated. Ajay was a boy who lived alone with his grandmother. He lost his parents when he was four years old. Now, he is ten years old.

Ajay loved his grandmother since she was the only one to guide and nurture him. He studied in a boy’s school in Ramgarh and was not brilliant in his studies but was a good football player. Ajay loved to play all day and night. He didn’t talk much and had a few friends.

As a result, some of his classmates thought he had an attitude. He didn’t prefer to go to school every day. Instead, he regularly went to the field every evening to play football with his friends. Ajay’s grandma got fed up by scolding him for not attending school and tuition, but it was no use.

It was found that Ajay got up in the morning and dressed up to go to school but didn’t reach school for several days. Despite his notorious deeds, he was a good person who helped needy people. He never hurts anybody willingly.

Himesh was his classmate in school and was the topper in his class. He was very studious and always ranked first. But he was the one in class who disliked Ajay and held a strong grudge against him for being a good football player. Ajay was always selected for various football tournaments in school, whereas Himesh always got rejected. It was the main reason behind his hatred.

It was the final exam season. As usual, Ajay was not prepared well. He just went with half of the syllabus known. Though Himesh is a topper and a studious boy, he did cheat in some exams to pass with the help of small paper chits.

Himesh didn’t study well this time and planned to cheat in the exam. On the exam day, he went with several chits in his pocket, and while checking his pockets, one of his teachers caught him red-handed.

When the teacher asked him, “What is this? You are cheating in the exam!” He replied, “No, ma’am, Ajay had put all these in my pocket. These all belong to him.” The teacher trusted him easily, being the most loveable student, and didn’t allow Ajay to sit for the exam.

Ajay repeatedly denied but the teacher didn’t listen to him. The next day at school, each classmate called him a “Cheater” and shouted at him. Ajay felt angry, annoyed, and sad at the same time.

Ajay didn’t cheat in the exam, nor he brought any chits, but he was blamed for doing so and was called a cheater regularly in schools. On his result day, Ajay failed since he was not allowed to sit in the exam. He got depressed and ashamed and ran away somewhere without informing anybody.

Ajay’s grandma got tensed and searched for him everywhere but didn’t find him. His grandma enquired in his school and she came to know that it was his result day and all the incidents that had happened.

Ajay’s grandma informed the teacher that he carried chits on none of the exam days. Teachers called up Himesh’s parents to talk about the matter. When his guardian scolded Himesh, he did agree that he blamed Ajay falsely and the chits were his own.

Ajay returned home late that night and went to his grandma to say sorry. His grandma was so relieved to see him and let him know everything that happened in the school that day. Ajay felt happy and relaxed knowing that Himesh got punishment and he had to repeat the same class for the next year.

Moral of A Tale of Two Classmates

You should think twice before speaking or blaming others. If you don’t choose to speak wisely, you will surely get punished someday. Cheating is not a wise way to qualify for a challenge.
