Reflection of Your Actions

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Nanny was a girl who was sincere, cute, and helpful. She was studying 10th standard in a reputed school. She loved to study and had a keen interest in reading various types of storybooks. She was good at academics and also a brilliant painter. She always believed in a word “Reflection of your actions”.

She was a soft girl and always tried her best to help people whenever they were in need. She was friendly with everyone and was sympathetic towards poor children and families.

Nanny doesn’t want to celebrate her birthday every year by throwing grand parties. Instead, she hates parties and unnecessary wastage of money. She was different from all other little children.

On her birthdays, she went to several temples and requested her parents to arrange food packets and old clothes for poor children who lived on the roadside or nearby the temples. She distributes those to them and asks for blessings for her birthday. The children love her so much that they wait for her to come every year.

It was January again, and Nanny’s birthday was on the 2nd of Jan. This time, too, like every year, Nanny planned to visit the temples and distribute food packets and clothes. But this time, she includes winter garments too. So she rushed to her parents and shared all her plans so that they could arrange them.

On her birthday morning, Nanny was excited and eagerly waiting to visit the temples and meet them as usual. She got up early, had a bath, and dressed all by herself. She also packed up the stuff on her own, which was to be distributed. At 9 am, she left with her parents heading towards the first temple in the town. They reached by 10 am. Nanny jumped out of her car and ran towards the area where the poor used to lay by. She reached and saw all of them sitting quietly in a row.

She walked up to one of them and said, “It’s my birthday again after a whole year. I am back here to give you all stuff. Would you bless me again this year?”

The poor old woman smiled at her and blessed her by keeping her palms over Nanny’s head. Nanny smiled and started distributing all the things. There were 10 poor people, including men and women, and 4 small children. After completing one temple, Nanny bid goodbye to them, and they headed toward the next. This way, they completed 3 temples. The fourth one was the last destination left.

On reaching the spot, Nanny asked her parents’ permission to go to the washroom. She went near the toilet and found the toilet to be locked. So she asked a guard for another toilet, and he gave her directions. Following the directions, she was walking and slipped suddenly, falling into a big dug hole covered under grass and mud. She shouted loud and louder for help, but no one reached up to her.

Thirty minutes passed by, but she remained in the same condition. Then, on hearing a footstep, she started shouting and weeping loudly.

Suddenly, she found a poor child who belonged to the slums near the temple. The poor boy was able to recognize Nanny and asked her to wait until he returned. The boy ran to his people in the slum area and told them about Nanny’s condition. They all came with a thick rope to Nanny and helped her to come up. Nanny cried and thanked them for helping her that day.

The poor people were very happy to see Nanny again after one year, and they loved her so much that they replied, “You are like our child. We love you so much. We will always be there whenever you need us. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us.”

Nanny was in tears and went up to his parents. She shared the accident which occurred. On hearing her, Nanny’s parents got scared and thanked them. Then, Nanny distributed the stuff and promised to be back again after a few days and meet them.

Nanny helped people. She was a helpful girl. She always tried to help the poor and people who were in need. As a result, she got help from them when she was in trouble and danger, which could even take her life.
