Bird In A Golden Cage

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

“Bird In A Golden Cage” story is about a caged bird that got her ultimate freedom.

A friend gave a gift to a merchant in Canada. A beautiful golden cage held a green parrot. He said, “I specifically brought this talking parrot from India for you. Just give this parrot fresh green chillies, and it will sing beautiful songs for you.”

The merchant made the announcement that he would be travelling to India one day.

“Just get me a lovely beautiful silk fabric,” said his better half.

“Toys!” his daughter stated, “I want a toy cart that can follow me wherever I go.”

“What about you, my friend?” asked the merchant as he turned to the parrot. “What do you desire?”

“Dear Master, I have a request for you. If you see green parrots in India, would you please be able to inform them that I am alive and well?” the parrot sighed. “Inform them that I am confined to a large house in Canada.”

After promising to relay the message, the merchant left.

The merchant went to a garden after completing all his work in India. A flock of parrots caught his attention. “Dear parrots, I brought a message to you from one of your sisters,” he said as he approached them. “She was entangled in India. However, she now resides with me.”

One of the parrots flew and arrived on the vendor’s shoulder. “Is that true? We hope she is safe,” it said.

“Oh yes! She is housed in a stunning golden cage. I give her delicious food.” The merchant continued, “She wanted you all to know that she is alive and well there.”

The parrot that was perched on the merchant’s shoulder trembled and fell to the ground when it heard this. The merchant tried to wake the parrot after becoming alarmed. But it just sat there!

“What did I do?”

“All I wanted to do was just to send a message,” he screamed. “I was unaware that this parrot would die!”

The businessman slowly got up and headed for the house.

His daughter and wife greeted him at the door. He distributed the gifts he had brought for them. He then looked down at the parrot.

“Did you relay the message to my friends? What were their words?” excitedly asked the parrot.

“I gave the message as you instructed. However, after hearing it, one of your friends shivered and fell to the ground. I fear that your friend passed away. I am so grieved,” said the vendor, unfortunately.

The parrot stopped moving. She then gave in as well and fell. “Oh my God!” cried the merchant. “Why is this taking place?”

He opened the enclosure entryway and tenderly lifted the parrot out. He felt sorry for the bird he loved.

To bury the bird, he took it to the garden.

In the wake of digging the opening, he went to lift the bird. Suddenly, the parrot sat up and traveled to a close-by wall.

Shocking the merchant, the bird sat up and flew off as he turned to lift it. The seller was pleased to be surprised!

The merchant was surprised but happy.

“I’m so glad you’re still alive, my friend the parrot. But why did you crash?”

The parrot that fell wasn’t dead at all. The parrot smiled and said, “The open sky is any day better than a golden cage.” “She was sending me a message.” Additionally, she demonstrated how to escape the cage.

The merchant said, “Fly away, my friend,” adding, “I never realized that you were sad in the cage. Spread the beauty of your song to the world.”

The parrot bowed its wings and took off in the direction of the open sky.
