The Magic Pencil Story

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Magic Pencil Story is about Ranit who was a young boy. He loved to draw. He drew on the sand and wet clay with small sticks and pointed stones. He lacked the funds to purchase a pencil and paper.

He’d always wished he had a pencil so he could make beautiful drawings. He generally drew the photos energetically.

He met an old man while drawing one day. He gave Ranit a pencil and said, “You should only draw pictures for the poor people with this. Use this magic pencil and call me if you ever need my assistance.” The old man vanished shortly after he said that.

Ranit was extremely cheerful. He used the magic pencil to draw a mango. Wow! This is fantastic. A real mango emerged from the mango.

He then sketched a dog. Additionally, it changed into a real dog.

Ranit spoke to himself, “What is it? This pencil is magical. Thankyou very much, old uncle. I will always remember what you said.”

Ranit drew food with his magic pencil. It changed into real food. For his parents, he drew grains, fruits, and clothing. They all changed into real things. Ranit provided the poor people with drawings of the things they needed.

The villagers greatly appreciated Ranit’s efforts to assist the needy and told about him to the king.

The king contacted Ranit and instructed him to draw a gold tree in the royal garden and said, “Give your pencil to me”.

“You have a lot of money, Your Majesty. I only draw pictures for the poor,” Ranit said.

The king was furious. He took off the magic pencil from Ranit and began sketching a gold tree. But there was no sign of the gold tree. He instructed the chief minister to make a drawing. However, none of his drawings was realized.

The king reacted angrily. “Listen to me, Ranit. If you don’t draw the picture I want you to draw, I’ll put you in jail.”

Ranit thought that if he disobeyed the king, he would be imprisoned and unable to assist the poor. He was exceptionally brilliant. He took out the pencil and started drawing the old man.

He saw the old man in front of him. The old man told the king, “Thank you, Your Majesty. Wealth and money are abundant in your possession. However, Ranit is attempting to alleviate poverty. You took the pencil from him but didn’t get what you wanted. Nobody else can make the images come to life. I gave Ranit the magic pencil after observing his honesty and dedication to his work.”

The king was aware of his error. He begged Ranit and the old man to forgive him. The old man vanished. The king rewarded Ranit.

Moral of The Magic Pencil Story

We should work hard and honestly in our jobs. It is wrong to deceive others to achieve our selfish goals.
