September 26, 2023September 26, 2023 The Test of Friendship A wealthy man once lived in a town. His business was extremely successful. He met a man who used to come every day to his shop. They became friends over time. One day, the wealthy man had to leave town with his family. He was concerned about the house holding his money. As he informed about his thoughts with his family, they suggested to him that he ought to ask his companion for help. Although the wealthy man believed that his friend remained with him most of the time, he never had the opportunity to test his friend’s loyalty and was unsure whether he should trust him with his life’s earnings. The still-rich man called his friend and told him about his problem. He then went inside to get the keys to his locker, where he kept his money. Gave the friend the keys to his locker, and he left with his family. The wealthy man then went back to his hometown after a few days. He invited his friend to his house and informed his friend that he was returning to town the following day. He started yelling, “Didn’t you trust me?,” as soon as his friend entered his house. Why were rocks placed in your locker? And why did you give me the key to that locker if you hadn’t put any money in it? When his friend spoke, it shocked everyone at home. The rich man grinned and said, “Yet how do you have at least some idea what was inside that lock? In my absence, you must have opened that locker. The friend was silent. The rich man proceeded, “I had kept those stones inside that storagesince I needed to test your companionship.” The rich man asked him to leave and never met again after hearing this. In shame, the friend left his house. Moral of The Test of Friendship Story Before giving someone your trust, always think twice. Making friends is good, but one shouldn’t just trust anyone.
