February 12, 2023July 16, 2023 The Two Birds: Story on Wiser Choice There was a time when a mother and her daughter lived in a village. All of them were poor. A very wealthy man also lived in this village. He was the village’s chief. He was a terrible headmaster. The village residents despised him, but they were powerless to harm him. Poor villagers were compelled to work in his fields. Though they were required to work all day, he didn’t pay them much. The girl’s mother had to work for the chief as well. She was also required to work all day. She was worn out when she got home. She typically fell asleep as soon as she got home. The mother used to kneel down and tell the stories to the girl before the wealthy man arrived in the village. The mother never really had the opportunity to speak with her daughter now. The mother had not told the story to the daughter in a very, very long time. These tales eluded her. For so long, she hadn’t spoken to her mother. The girl felt sorry for her mother. She recognized her mother’s weariness. However, she secretly desired to hear her story. She also had a lot of questions. The girl’s mother had planned to send her to school to learn and study. She wasn’t sure why. She repeatedly inquired about her mother because she was curious. The mother called her daughter one day when she was ill and couldn’t go to work. The daughter sat next to her mother. The mother started telling a story about the two birds. “Once upon a time, there were two brother birds that lived in a nest,” the mother stated. They were still unable to fly. Their mother once went looking for food for them. A storm arrived. The wind was strong. The young birds were flung from the nest and separated due to the wind’s force. A bird flew to a different nation. He was caught there by a gentleman who took excellent care of him. He was educated, gentle, and kind as a child. He lived a happy life. The other bird fell to the ground as it blew. He was captured there and compelled to work by a villain. The second bird became like the cruel man as it grew up. He changed into a bad bird. Now that she knew her mother’s story, she could see that her mother was so in love with her. She realized that her mother wanted to send her away so that she could live a better life for herself. She made a promise to her mother that when she was older, she would leave, get an education, and be a good girl. She promised to return and transport her mother to a better location. Her mother gave her a big hug and told her how proud she was of her and how happy she was to hear her promise. The girl eventually left her mother and went off to school. She kept her promises to her mother. Both of them had happy endings.
