January 28, 2023July 16, 2023 When Lying Becomes Dangerous: The Story of Ronnie A shepherd by the name of Ronnie once cared for a flock of sheep. He decided to fool someone one day out of boredom. He yelled, “Help! Wolf! Please assist!” The villages ran with sticks to protect the boy and drive the wolf away. They approached the boy and inquired about the location of the wolf. The boy exclaimed with a chuckle, “I fooled everyone! There were no wolves. The angry villagers left. The boy performed the same trick multiple times, attracting the villagers’ attention each time. The boy chuckled as they warned him not to use that trick again. A wolf came into the field where Ronnie and the sheep were one day, slowly starting to attack the sheep one at a time. Ronnie called out, “Wolf! Please assist!” The villagers heard him but ignored his screams because they thought he was playing tricks on them again. Ronnie reported the wolf to the nearest villager as he sprinted down the hill. The wolf fled after killing and wounding the sheep as the villagers followed him. “I called for help!” cried Ronnie. Why did no one arrive to assist? He was consoled by an elderly villager, who said, “We are sorry about the sheep.” However, you have to be aware that a liar, even when he/ she tell the truth, is not believed.
