The Squirrel and The Cart of Nuts

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A forest was home to a squirrel and a lion. The squirrel lived in a nearby tree, while the lion lived in a cave. Under that tree, a group of hunters sets up a net one day.

Sadly, the lion was caught in the net. The lion cried out in fear for help, raged, and fumed. After hearing his roar, the squirrel saw the king of the jungle in a pitiful state. She wanted to turn his misery into a hood turn. She began to consider options for assisting and rescuing the lion. She proceeded to ascend to the location from which the net was suspended as she slowly climbed down one of the tree’s branches.

With her sharp teeth, she began to gnaw at the net. Because the material on the internet was so difficult, it took a long time. However, she persevered, worked, and completed the task throughout the night, ultimately releasing the lion.

The lion greatly appreciated the little squirrel. The lion promised her a cargo of nuts.

The squirrel then joined the lion’s team. She performed exceptionally well for him and carried out her master’s orders. She moved quickly and steadily. She quickly became his favorite pet. The lion never lost sight of his promise to her. But deliberately postponed its completion.

The squirrel did not gather nuts like the other squirrel in that tree because it depended on the lion. Like every day, the other squirrel climbed trees to get nuts from various places. As winter approached, they even gathered more nuts. While she carried out her duty to her master and gazed at them resting on her tiny nest, the squirrel sat on a branch and observed what they were doing. She grew old over a series of days. She lost each tooth individually. She even stopped working for the lion.

The lion reflected on his promise to the squirrel at this point. He delivered the promised haul of nuts to her one day.

When it arrived, the squirrel signed, “Master, this cartload of nuts is of no use to me now.” I’ve lost every tooth. I won’t be able to break even one nut at this point.”

“Small creature, I purposely delayed fulfilling my promise to you,” the lion responded. “I wanted to instruct you. Your friends were independent. As a result, they never went hungry. You suffered because you relied on me. I just wanted to show you how important self-help is. For your survival and well-being, you should always work independently.”

The squirrel never considered or anticipated that her master would act in this manner on purpose.
